No Home Movie

'No Home Movie' is the title of the last documentary directed by Belgian filmmaker Chantal Akerman before she committed suicide in October 2015 after suffering from depression for a long time. This documentary portrays, as a conversation, the life of Chantal Akerman's mother Natalia, a Polish immigrant that survived the Nazi Holocaust in Auschwitz. A close look into the relationship between mother and daughter, Akerman honors her mother as she spent the last months of her life next to her when she was confined to her apartment suffering from chronic anxiety. The conversations between them shows the reality she suffered when she was in Auschwitz and also she gives her peculiar opinions about Akerman's preoccupations such as gender or cultural identity.
