Nightmare Alley

In 'Nightmare Alley', Stanton "Stan" Carlisle (Bradley Cooper, 'A Star Is Born', 'American Sniper') is a young and highly ambitious sideshow worker who has a tricky gift with words and always knowns how to draw even the most difficult to convince spectators to the stand. Stan teams up with the dangerous and manipulative psychologist, Lilith Ritter (Cate Blanchett, 'Blue Jasmine', 'Elizabeth'). Together, the twisted duo set up a plan to swindle a rich tycoon and bring high society to its knees.

'Nightmare Alley' is based on the novel by William Lindsay Gresham and will be brought to the big screen by the Oscar-award winning director Guillermo Del Toro ('The Shape of Water', 'Pan's Labyrinth'). The script is co-written by Del Toro and Kim Morgan ('The Forbidden Room'), 'Seances'). Joining the cast are Rooney Mara ('The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo', 'Carol') as the sweet but naïve carnival worker, Molly, Toni Colette ('Hereditary', 'Unbelievable') as the mentalist Zeena Krumbein, Willem Dafoe ('The Lighthouse', 'Spider-Man') as the carnival talker, Clem, and Richard Jenkins ('Berlin Station', 'Olive Kitteridge') as the high society magnate Ezra Grindle, amongst many others.

'Nightmare Alley' will be brought to the big screen under Fox Searchlight Pictures.
