Plot

'Next to Her' is an israeli drama directed by Asaf Korman and starring and written by his wife Liron Ben-Shlush. Jacob Daniel, Liat Goren, Varda Ben Hur, Dana Ivgy, Carmit Messilati-Kaplan and Sophie Ostrowski round out the cast. The film tells the story of Chelli (Liron Ben-Shlush), a young woman who must use most of her time taking care of her sister Gabby (Dana Ivgy), who suffers from a serious mental deficiency.

Both live together in a dingy apartment, existing in an kind of bubble. However, when Gabby is transferred to a day care centre, her sister feels tremendously lonely and chooses to start a relationship with colleague Zohar.

'Next to Her' is a film that received a great reception by critics in 2014 and was selected to be screened as part of the Directors' Fortnight section of the 2014 Cannes Film Festival.
