Julien (Guillaume Canet) is a business man with a quiet normal life, except for the great amount of work trips his job forces him to make. These have had a huge impact on his life during the last few years, since they caused his separation with Marie (Melanie Laurent), mother of his seven-year-old son. Julien, due to his job, can barely see the child, Mathys (Lino Papa). But the love issues become almost unimportant when the kid disappears without a trace. Julien's constant absence won't help but to increase the guilt the haunted father feels. The wish of having been more present for him will make him move heaven and earth to bring the child home. Julien will get involved in a journey that will wake in him violent instincts and desperation like he had never known before.
