My Life Story

'My Life Story' is just that, the autobiographical story of Madness frontman Graham "Suggs" McPherson. Directed by Julien Temple, this documentary looks back at the professional life of the British artist in a well blended mix of comedy, drama and music. Suggs has been the frontman for Madness since 1977 and on his 50th birthday, following the death of his cat, the artist was hit with the sudden urge to find out more about his absent father. Director Julien Temple uses the singer's backstory to explore how it inspired his music, starting with the stories of both of his parents. He will review his childhood memories, which are full of music. The documentary is made up of a series of clips and is very much a reflection of music in London at the time too.
