Plot
'My Imaginary country' is the new Chilean production brought to us by director Patricio Guzmán, in charge of projects such as 'The Cordillera of Dreams' and 'The Pearl Button'. As in his previous films, the director is also in charge of the script in his new feature film. 'My Imaginary Country' tells us the story of the Chilean people, the story of a people that wakes up forty-seven years after Augusto Pinochet's coup d'état. The director intends to find out why his town is configured in what is being called "a social explosion", a great "rebellion" or even a "revolution", so many years after the dictatorship. Patricio Guzmán himself has confessed that this is a great mystery for him, a mystery that he will address in his documentary film. 'My Imaginary Country' is an investigation of this mystery, a film of the effect that is being experienced today in the Chilean environment, on the emotions and feelings of this population, a film of what the Chilean people know and do not know. Fifty years have passed since Patricio Guzmán shot what is known as 'The Battle of Chile', and now, the director has returned to the Chilean streets to record everything that happens in his country, arriving at a key moment, a moment when in which the Chilean people have been able to vote for a new Constitution, achieving a majority of 80%, something that Chile had not known until now.
