Plot
'Mrs. Harris's Journey to Paris' is a modern tale that begins in post-World War II London and follows Ada Harris (Lesley Manville, 'The Invisible Thread'), a British woman who cleans houses for a living. Ada has been lonely since her beloved husband Eddie went missing in action, but she is not one of those people who obsesses over misfortunes or complains about her circumstances, preferring instead to look at life with optimism. However, when the pragmatic Ada discovers a wonderful and incredible Christian Dior dress hanging in the bedroom of a wealthy client, she is surprised to feel a pang of desire. Ada begins to feel the desire to possess that ethereal and precious work of art and does everything she can to get it. After putting in a lot of overtime and saving as much as possible (even trying her luck at the horse races), Ada has scraped together enough money to buy the Dior model. That's when she says goodbye to her two best friends, Vi (Ellen Thomas) and Archie (Jason Isaacs), and travels to Paris to visit the prestigious fashion house, with the goal of making her dream come true. But her task will not be so easy, since upon arrival, Ada must face a series of surprising setbacks, among them, the fearsome Mrs. Colbert (Isabelle Huppert, 'Elle'), who is furious just to think that a cleaning lady can wear haute couture. Despite all the obstacles that stand in her way, Ada refuses to leave Paris without her dress. Her unwavering attitude wins over André (Lucas Bravo), the idealistic accountant of the house of Dior, the generous model Natasha (Alba Baptista) and the aristocratic Marquis de Chassagne (Lambert Wilson), the golden bachelor of Paris. Ada soon discovers that by changing her life, she begins to change the lives of those around her. She may even help save the house of Dior itself. 'Mrs. Harris's Journey to Paris' is the film adaptation of the novel 'Flowers for Mrs. Harris' by Paul Gallico, directed by Anthony Fabian ('Skin'). Co-production between United Kingdom, France and Hungary
