Plot

'Moscow on the Hudson' is a romantic comedy-drama written and directed by Paul Mazursky starring Robin Williams as Vladimir Ivanoff, a saxophonist from the Soviet Circus.

The film, set on the last years of the Cold War and the Soviet political repression, is focused on this musician who travels alongside his circus troupe to perform in New York but he is left in the city as he can't come back home. In this new country, he will have to get used to that new lifestyle he has never lived before while he's trying to make a living. With a little help from an Italian American neighbour and a Cuban lawyer, he will have to overcome all the problems immigrants have when they arrive to a new country as he starts to appreciate their culture.
