Monstrous

'Monstrous' premieres after passing through the Sitges Fantastic Film Festival. The film is set in rural America in the 1950s, where Laura (Christina Ricci) and her son Cody are on the run from her abusive ex-husband. Although they try to create a new life on a remote farm near a lake, the idyllic life they dream of is far away and a terrifying new threat awaits them there. Still traumatized by the family violence they have suffered, Laura's physical and mental well-being are pushed to the limit and the family's fragile existence is threatened.

Directed by Chris Siverstson, who describes it as a blend of supernatural horror, family drama, psychological thriller and a character study like a 1950s period piece. The cast is rounded out by Santino Barnard ('Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, 'The Kids Are Alright', 'A Christmas Mystery'), Don Durrell ('In the Forest', 'Age of the Living Dead '), Colleen Camp ('Amsterdam', 'The Miracle of Father Stu', 'The House of the Clock on the Wall'), Lew Temple ('Rosalina', 'Murder at Yellowstone City') and Carol Anne Watts ('The Loneliest Boy in the World', 'Supercool: A Night of Madness'). It arrives to Spanish theaters from Begin Again Films and Wild Duck Productions. It is a Screen Media Filmmode Entertainment production.
