Moana 2

'Moana 2' is a sequel to Disney's 2016 animated hit, an epic animated musical from Disney Animation Studios that arrives in theaters eight years after the original movie became a worldwide box office success, grossing $643 million globally.

This sequel was originally conceived as a streaming series for Disney+, but Disney CEO Bob Iger was so impressed by the material during its development that he decided to turn it into a feature film for theatrical release.

'Moana 2' will immerse audiences in a new journey alongside Moana, Maui, and their friends, joined by a new crew of unusual sailors. After receiving an unexpected call from her ancestors, Moana must travel to the far seas of Oceania and venture into dangerous unknown waters for an unprecedented adventure.

The movie is directed by Dave Derrick Jr. and features music by Grammy winners Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, as well as Opetaia Foa'i and Mark Mancina, who contributed to the first installment. 'Moana 2' is set to premiere in theaters in November 2024.
