Mighty Victoria

In the year 1936 the Mexican town of La Esperanza gets the news that their mine, the main economic motor of the place, is going to close. With this also comes the cancellation of the railway route, their only way of communicating with civilization. Durán, a young mechanic, sees frustrated his dream of becoming a machinist and he must choose between crossing the North border, giving up his roots and the love of his life, or helping a resistance group in the town that has a crazy plan: building their own steam train.

Written and directed by Raúl Ramón in his debut as director after participating in the short films 'La vacabólica', 'El duque' and 'La llama doble' and working also as photography director in films like 'La lucha de Ana' and 'Seda'. Leading the cast we find Damián Alcázar as Don Federico; the actor is known for his roles in films like 'Hell', 'The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian' and 'Cronicas'. We also have Gerardo Oñate ('Bloopers'), Roberto Sosa ('El fuego de la venganza'), Edgar Vivar ('The Orphanage'), Eduardo España, Luis Felipe Tovar, Said Sandoval and Rogeiro Martín del Campo.

Shot in Durango (Mexico) and produced by Contacto Pro and Vertigo Films, the film has been awarded in the Guadalajara International Film Festival, the San Diego Latino Film Festival, the awards Canacine in México and the awards Mexican Cines Journalists.
