Plot
Men & Chicken tells the story about Gabriel and Elias, a two very different brothers: Gabriel is a university teacher who is a little sick of his job, and Elias spends everyday thinking about women or masturbating himself. Suddenly, his father dies and they find out that he was not his real father, so they decide to go on adventure to find their real family. This will take them to a sanatorium at the Ork island. There, they will find out that they also have three brothers that they did not760 know, and also that their family keeps secrets that they never expected before.
Anders Thomas Jensen directs David Dencik, Mads Mikkelsen, Nikolaj Lie Kaas, Søren Mallin and Nicolas Bro in this black humor comedy which is full of close and unforgettable characters.

'Men & Chicken' is only the fourth feature-film by director Anders Thomas Jensen. Mads Mikkelsen, Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Ole Thestrup have appeared in all four.
The old sanatorium from the movie was part of the sanatorium in Beelitz, near Berlin, Germany. The complex consists of 60 buildings built between 1898 and 1930. When the sanatorium was uses as a military hospital in WWI, Adolf Hitler was among the wounded. After WWII, it was used as a military hospital by the soviet union until 1994. Since they passed on any modernization the complex is very popular among movie companies for history pieces. Parts of 'The Pianist' (2002) and 'Valkiria' (2008) where shot in the area.
The child's voice narration at the beginning and the end of the film was performed by the director's daughter, Karen Marie Jensen.
