Memories of a Burning Body

The film 'Memories of a Burning Body' is a portrait of the story of Ana, Patricia, and Mayela. All of them were raised in a repressive context and era where sexuality was kept as a taboo subject. Because of this, the three found the meaning of femininity through a series of tactical rules and also implicit impositions. Now their brave voices come together in the figure of a single 65-year-old woman who revisits a kaleidoscopic life in which different memories, secrets, and some hidden desires intertwine.

Its director and screenwriter Antonella Sudasassi Furniss defines this film as the conversation she never got to have with her grandmothers. Through this story, she seeks to give voice to a collective cry, to those multiple stories of different women who, despite the taboos, have the courage to speak and reveal their most intimate secrets. A journey that aims to show the reality of the past to understand the present, to understand how and why we have arrived at the moment and place in which we live.

An ode to all the women of the universe who are creators, caregivers, and who invite questioning that provokes change thanks to the fact that things are different today. Sol Carballo, Paulina Bernini, and Juliana Filloy are the protagonists of the feature film.
