Plot
Marty is a clumsy butcher and the last of six children of an Italian mother who still lives in the family home. At 34, Marty is facing an identity crisis at the little prospect of marriage to be raised and allocated to permanent bachelorhood. Sees the exit until he is encouraged by his mother to go to the Stardust Ballroom on a Saturday night. There, the protagonist unexpectedly meets Clara, a lonely teacher who called his attention and that upends the way of seeing life. Directed by Delbert Mann, the film won four Oscars was in 1955: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Paddy Chayefsky actor Ernest Borgnine and BAFTA to Best Actor (Borgnine) and foreign actress (Blair).
