Plot
After Marie (Karolina Gruszka) and Pierre Curie (Charles Berling) won the Nobel Prize in Physics, Pierre died in a tragic accident. Alone and with two children, Marie clung to her scientific studies in a world dominated by men, thus becoming the first woman to receive a chair at the University of the Sorbonne (Paris).
Then, Marie falls in love with a married scientist and, together, they begin an affair. When the wife finds out, a victim of jealousy, she makes the affair public. This coincides with the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 1911. So instead of enjoying the fame deserved for her research work, Marie is vilified for committing adultery.
This story of Marie Curie's discoveries, love, unloving and triumphs is recounted in the biopic of Maria Noëlle.
