Plot

Xavier Giannoli wrote and directed this film starring actress Catherine Frot, a drama inspired by the life of Florence Foster Jenkins that received 11 nominations for the Cesar awards.

Set in the Golden Twenties, specifically in 1921, the story begins at the party held in the castle of Marguerite Dumont, not far from Paris, an event that every year brings together a number of music lovers willing to support a great cause. Nobody knows too much of the host of this annual celebration, a wealthy woman who has dedicated her life to music. Unfortunately though she enjoy playing her favorite songs, she sings terribly, something that her friends and her husband have kept a secret. The problem arises when she decides to perform in front of a real audience that react with false flattery and laughter.
