Marco

After a plenty life, the Spanish trade unionist Enric Marco enters the public eye when a historian discovers that, despite the constant testimonies that proves the opposite, Marco has never been a victim of the 1945 Nazi Holocaust as he claims.

Based on real events, 'Marco' is a biographical film of the Secretary General of the CNT and the most tense and important moment of his entire political career. His convincing and charismatic figure made even his own family believe that his biography was real, when the truth went deeper than that.

His image was so relevant that he became president of the 'Amicale de Mauthausen of Spain' (Spanish Association of Holocaust Victims), until the historian Benito Bermejo Sánchez uncovered the truth in 2005: Marco was never a victim of the Nazi occupation in France. The truth is he also helped with the workforce in there because of an agreement between Hitler and Franco in 1941.

'Marco' is a film directed by Aitor Arregi and Jon Garaño, filmmakers who also wrote the script with Jorge Gil Munarriz. The film is based on the real case of politician Enric Marco, and stars Eduard Fernández, Nathalie Poza and Sonia Almarcha. Gemma Vidal and Begoña Alonso take on the role of executive producers of the project.
