Plot
'Maîtresse' is a French film of 1976 directed by Barbet Schroeder ('Before and after', 'Desperate Measures', 'Murder ... 1-2-3'). It tells the story of Olivier (Gérard Depardieu), a first-time thief who decides to steal in an apartment in Paris, with the certainty that it is empty. However, once he enters the apartment he meets the owner, Ariane (Bulle Ogier), a prostitute specialized in sadomasochism, also known as dominatrix. Nothing else to know arises an undeniable attraction between thief and dominatrix, causing that both Olivier and Ariane begin a somewhat tortuous relationship, driven mainly by the jealousy of Olivier, who pretends that Ariane change of life and leave his work as dominatrix.
