Magic Medicine

Throughout four years, director Monty Wates' first documentary will show us the day-to-day of three persons (John, Andy and Mark) who will take part of the first medical trial in the United Kingdom to use psilocybin, a psychoactive component found in the psychedelic mushrooms, with the intention that it could serve as a treatment for depression. Throughout the film, Wates will not only let us see the medical sessions of these three volunteers, but he will also show us the everyday life of these persons and the effects that depression can have in a person's life and all the people around him. This documentary is produced by Lizzie Gillet, producer of the documentary 'The Age of Stupid', which reached the number 1 of the United Kingdom's box office.
