Plot
This documentary, which also combines parts of fiction, shows the sad reality of the Mallorcan town of Magaluf. The locals suffer from the fact that their town has become one of the most popular low-cost tourism destinations in the world, and close to a million visitors travel there every summer, destroying the urban furniture, littering the streets and creating noise. Although this model of tourism has clear negative consequences for the tranquillity and wellbeing of local residents, who feel it is practically an invasion, it also offers them business opportunities, generating millions of euros for the restaurant industry. The two sides of the coin, as they now need to coexist. This choral story will show us all points of view of the situation, as well as a comparative view of Magalauf in high and low season. All of this from an aesthetic of mystery that may remind us of a thriller, but at the same time it is a comedy of manners.
It was written and directed by Miguel Ángel Blanca ('Quiero lo eterno') and produced, in addition to its director, by Bernat Manzano, Valérie Montmartin and Miguel Eek. The production companies Boogaloo Films, Little Big Story and Mosaic Produccions. In addition, it has participated in some festivals such as the Camden International Film Festival.
