Mafia Mamma

Oscar nominee Toni Collette ('Hereditary', 'The Sixth Sense', 'Little Miss Sunshine', etc.), plays in this film to Kristin Balbano Jordan. A woman who needs a change. She's the mother of a teenager that is leaving home for college, she's in crisis with her husband, and her career as a pharmaceutical marketing executive is at a bad moment. Kristin wants a life where they value her problem-solving skills and her empathy positively, and stop seeing them as flaws. One day, she will receive a call from an unknown woman, Bianca (Mónica Bellucci), explaining that her grandfather from Italy has passed. So, she leaves Calfornia and flies to Rome to attend the funeral, with illusions of being able to have an Italian romantic adventure, where she will discover that the family business is actually a criminal organization and that the family's rivals want to kill the Balbanos. So Kristin will take the responsability as her grandfather wanted. Although she is quite reticent at first, the exemplar mother of a family realizes that, when she's not dodging assassination attempts, being a mob boss has certain advantages: people respect what she brings to the table, an incredible wardrobe, an angel that protects her with the face of Bianca and a break from endless Zoom meetings.
