Plot
'Made in Italy' is feature directorial debut by British actor James D'Arcy, who is also writing the screenplay for his first feature film. D'Arcy reunites father and son, Liam Neeson and Micheál Richardson, in their third joint film collaboration. Richardson is Jack Foster, a thirty-year-old man who is divorcing his wife, Ruth (Yolanda Kettle), and, in addition, he is about to lose his job, as his mother family has put up the art gallery where he works as manager. Determined to buy the gallery, he plans to make the money by selling his parents' old house in Tuscany, Italy. The house belonged to his mother, who died in a car accident. Now the house belongs to him and his father, Robert (Neeson), a recognized artist with international fame. Jack decides to reunite with his father and they travel to Italy, to be able to buy the gallery from his maternal grandparents. The problem will come when they arrive at the house in Tuscany and Jack and Robert see that house is in very bad condition. Kate (Lindsay Duncan), an estate agent, recommends renovating it to sell. In this remodeling process, father and son will meet again, causing Jack to begin to rethink both his own life and the relationship he had with his parents. Likewise, it will be an opportunity for Robert to close an emotional wound that he still had open.
