Luka Chuppi

Set in the tense atmosphere that has descended over Mathura, where members of the local political party Sanskriti Raksha Manch, have declared the number one enemy of the state to be actor Nazeem Khan due to his sympathies with young couples that choose to live together before marriage, pictures of his blacked out face dominate the streets.

In this age of judgemental media and censorship, smalltime television reporter Vinod "Guddu" Shukla (Kartik Aaryan) falls fast for an intern called Rashmi (Kriti Sanon) fresh out of a media course based in Delhi. Rashmi's father, Trivedi (Vinay Pathak), has gained a reputation as the aspiring future leader of the Sanskriti Raksha Manch. Despite her father's hardline political leanings, Rashmi wishes to practice a live-in arrangement with Guddu before they marry. Guddu's loyal camerman, Abbas (Aparshakti Khurana), hatches a faux work assignment that will allow the two lovers to pretend to be a married couple, thus allowing them to rent an apartment in Gwalior. Guddu and Rashmi must deal with everything from nosy neighbours to family drama whilst they try to negotiate this new phase in their relationship before committing to marriage.
