Lady Susan Vernon (Kate Beckinsale) is a widow woman waiting for a social chatter about a sensitive personal indiscretion, while living in temporary housing provided by their legal status widowhood. Once there, the smart, flirtatious, fun and selfish Mrs. Vernon will play matchmaker for her daughter Frederica, -and herself also naturally. the woman will take her friend Alicia (Chloë Sevigny), and two handsome suitors (Xavier Samuel and Tom Bennett) for the event.
