Liuben

Victor's Bulgarian grandfather has died and the 27-year-old decides to return from Spain to his hometown to attend the funeral. He decides to return to what was his childhood home, where he will meet his father again and will have to get used to him, to his habits and customs of what was once his village. Unexpectedly he will meet Liuben, an 18-year-old Gypsy boy, who will become Victor's love. Finding a safe place in each other, the two will be caught up in a plot that will make them deal with their differences and the conflicts around them, meanwhile making the decision of what to do when the son that Liuben and his girlfriend are expecting is born.

Spain and Bulgaria join forces to work together on Bulgarian filmmaker's feature debut Venci D. Kostov ('Through a Boy's Eyes'). 'Liuben' is a dramatic film that shows openminded a LGTBIQ+ relationship for the first time on that country. Starring with a cast with bulgarian actors such as Dimitar Nikolov ('From Here to Here'), Bozhidar Asenov ('Block'), Dimitar Banenkin ('The Price of Power'), Stefan Denolyubov ('While Aya Was Sleeping'), and Stoyan Radev ('Fourth Estate') working with the spanish actress Antonia San Juan ('Todo sobre mi madre') and the actor Ramón Equinas ('Intacto').
