Liam Gallagher: As It Was

'Liam Gallagher: As It Was' follows the controversial frontman of Britpop group Oasis during his career following the dramatic split from the band and his brother, Noel Gallagher. Following the dizzying heights of stardom reached by the iconic rock'n'roll star in the 1990s, the documentary follows Gallagher as he is forced to ask himself the question of what he can do next following a string of failed ventures, such as his band Beady Eye and fashion brand Pretty Green.

The cameras offer a unique and no holds barred insight into Gallagher's career, from his writing process to his relationship with no-nonsense manager Debbie Gwyther. Excerpts from video diaries kept by Gallagher on tour add to this authentic glimpse into the man behind the arrogant bravado in what documentary makers Gavin Fitzgerald ('Conor McGregor: Notorious') and Charlie Lightening ('Paul McCartney: Back in Brazil') are framing as a reeducation of sorts, the redemption of Liam Gallagher. Whether it is through his creation of new music or his comments on the fraught relationship with his ex-bandmate and brother, 'Liam Gallagher: As It Was' takes the audience on tour and to the studio to offer a personal perspective on the musician.
