The Girl Without Hands (La Jeune fille sans mains)

The French director Sébastien Laudenbach adapts to the cinema one of the less known stories of brothers Grimm, "The girl without hands", in a completely innovative way. 'La jeune fille sans mains' is an animation work completely different from what we have seen before, where the story is told through a few soft strokes and always avoiding the detail in excess. Laudenbach aims to show here how an animated film does not necessarily have to be full of details and how you can transmit all the feelings and sensations you want without the need for the characteristic realism that surrounds the world of animation today. Thus, the director creates a visual work that is too closer to being a pictorial work than a film project.
