Plot
'Late Night with the Devil', directed by Cameron and Colin Cairnes, with the executive production of Joel Anderson, Rami Yasin and David Dastmalchian, won recognition for Best Screenplay at the last Sitges Festival, where it captivated both the public as well as critics. The film, which will be released on May 24 in Spain, stood out as one of the festival's favorites.
The Australian Cairnes brothers, known for their previous work in the horror genre with '100 Bloody Acres' (2012) and 'Scare Campaign' (2016), now present 'Late Night with the Devil', aninternational co-production between Australia and the Emirates United Arabs. The plot unfolds in the context of a 1970s late-night talk show called Night Owls, starring Jack Delroy (played by David Dastmalchian). After facing difficult times after the death of his wife and the decline in audience, Delroy decides to organize a Halloween special to revitalize his program b>, without realizing the curse he will unleash.
The cast also includes Laura Gordon as Dr. June Ross-Mitchell, a parapsychologist and author; Ian Bliss as Carmichael the Conjurer, a former magician turned skeptic; Fayssal Bazzi as Christou, a psychic; Ingrid Torelli as Lilly; Rhys Auteri playing Gus McConnell; Georgina Haig as Madeleine Delroy; and Josh Quong Tart as Leo.
The film has received praise from both Stephen King, who described it as "brilliant", and specialized critics, who consider it an innovative proposal in contemporary horror cinema.
