Las chicas de la estación

Álex, Miranda, and Jara are three girls who live in a juvenile center and want to earn some money to celebrate Jara's birthday at the concert of her favorite trap singer. Being minors, they don't have many ways to make money, but there is always an older girl in the neighborhood, a former resident of their center, who has been offering them easy money in exchange for having dates with adults in the bathrooms of the bus station. The girls end up accepting and start gaining confidence; they think they are in control of the situation, but they are falling into a network of child prostitution. Everything will worsen with the multiple rape of one of them.

A film inspired by real events that aims to raise awareness about the sexual exploitation of minors and women in our country. Directed by Juana Macías (nominated for the Goya for Best New Director in 2010 for 'Planes para mañana'), this is her sixth feature film, co-written by Macías and Isa Sánchez ('El ministerio del tiempo'). The main actresses are Julieta Tobío, Salua Hadra, and María Steelman, marking their first work in a film.

Music plays a significant role in this movie, serving as a common thread, with an urban music soundtrack featuring female singers (La Zowi, L'Beel, Yung Beef, Gata Cattana, Albany, Kitty110, La Blackie...) whose lyrics address themes of violence, respect, survival, and uprooting, all related to the topics explored in one way or another in the film.
