Plot
Documentary directed by Alberto Porlan and received financial support from Drop the Star and was exhibited at the TVE channel La 2 after passing through theaters. The film delves into one of the key conservation of Spanish cultural heritage during the horrible war that hit the country during the Spanish Civil War times. In full war-fighting, the Republican government took the decision to create the Defense Board of Artistic Treasure. The aim of such meeting was to preserve one of the greatest cultural treasures that Spain: The works of art from the Prado Museum. Because of the bombing of the rebel faction that caused the tragedy and horror in the Spanish capital, the board wanted to avoid the destruction of the Spanish artistic heritage. The documentary recreates those hard times and the journey that had to do the works of arts, which were boxed up in 1,868 boxes, since leaving Madrid until its arrival in Geneva, Switzerland. From the Helvetic country the International Committee for the Safeguarding of the Spanish Treasury was created, which guarded the works until they could return to El Padro, in September 1939.
