Lady Jane

Directed by Trevor Nunn and starring Cary Elwes and Helena Bonham Carter. XVI century, King Henry VIII of England dies, leaving the throne to the young Edward VI, a sickly child who will die sooner rather than later. In that situation, Prime Minister John Dudley forces his son Guilford to marry with Lady Jane Grey. She is fifth in the line of succession but Dudley concocts several plans to place her and his son on the throne of England. The relationship between them at the beginning is as cold as an ice floe, but gradually their relationship will become a true love story that will make both they face a uncertain fate together, supporting each other. Jane was queen for only nine days, which were decisive in her relationship with Guilford. The people do not want it and asks the daughter of Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon, Mary Tudor.
