La mami

The Mexican-Spanish documentary 'La mami' is focused on Doña Olga, a worker at the legendary Barba Azul Cabaret from Ciudad de México, located in the Colonia Obrera. The club has two areas: the ballroom and the baths. While in the ballroom, the women channel the personalities they use with their clients, but in the upper floor, the baths, they can be themselves. There, they find the support from La Mami, who's been working there for 45 years. She gives them advice and protection, and will be the main support for Priscila, a woman who wants to enter the cabaret to pay for her son's cancer treatment. 'La mami' shows the bond that appears between Olga and Priscila, which are very similar despite belonging to different generations. The documentary feature is directed by Laura Herrero Garvín.
