Plot
'La Española. La de Torres' is a documentary about the life and work of the guitar maker who changed the world: it tells the story of the unknown inventor of today's guitar, Antonio de Torres Jurado. A carpenter born into a humble family in Almería in 1817, he achieved universal fame in the mid-19th century, changing the construction model for national guitar schools around the world and continuing it to this day. The investigations on the figure of this historical person are very few except for a publication in the 80s by J.L. Romanillos. Until now there had not been an in-depth approach to the inventor of the most played instrument in the world and icon of Spain.
The filmmakers are Fran López Montoro and Raúl Enrique Navarro who have traveled around Europe looking for personalities from different fields to interview them about their figure. 'La Española. La de Torres' is a Dos Lumens production with the participation of the Almería City Council and the collaboration of Costa de Almería.
The B.S.O. It had to be at the height of the subject so he drank from the origins of the flamenco touch to classical authors such as Bach and Schubert and reaching the most universal Spanish music, that is, Tárrega, Granados ... The work of Carles Trepat composing a Triptych for the film and of Stefano Grondona interpreting it.
