A teenage rebel boy named Cabra lives with his mother in north Argentina, in the Bolivian border. His dream is to become a professional Malambo dancer, a folklore dance characterized for its dance steps that look like horse walk. While he is preparing for the most important dance competition of his life he receives a surprise visit from his father "el Corto". His father just got out of jail for swindling and he has permission to stay out for a few days. The three members of the family take a trip to reconnect with each other on the road. But it won't be a quiet vacation, Cabra and his mom will be involved in criminal activity, which will become a problem for Cabra's awaiting brilliant future if someone finds out about what he got into. Should he abandon his dad in order to achieve his dream of becoming a dancer?

'Karnawal' is a familiar road movie which focuses on the passion for dancing of a young "malambist". During the carnaval, the young dancer will be put in danger because of his ex convict father who takes his son and his wife on a ride to the criminal world. The movie was premiered internationally in the International Film Festival of Toronto (TIFF) and won two awards: Best Director and Best Main Character to Alfredo Castro in Guadalajara's Film Festival. The movie is written and directed by Juan Pablo Félix and starred by Martín López Lacci.
