Jérôme Reybaud doesn't consider the "gay film" label to fit with "4 Days in France"; because he thinks that a "gay film" needs more than 4 minutes 40 seconds of sex scenes between homosexuals.
The birth of a film
The film borns out of two elements: On the one hand, La Croix-des-Gardes, a French neighbourhood located in the west of Cannes on a hill that works as meeting point for homosexuals in other to maintain sexual encounters. On the other hand, the theme of the couple portrayed as a separation.
