Plot
Spanish well-known filmmaker Carlos Saura presents his new musical documentary 'Jota de Saura' following the style and themes of some of his previous works such as 'Tango' or 'Fados'. In the same way that in those features, Saura explores on an audiovisual level the dance that gives title to the film, on a unique and refined way. With a polished and aesthetic mise-en-scène, Saura joins on the stage important figures of the international music and dance circles such as choreographer Ara Malikian or guitarist Cañizares. The music of the film is composed by Alberto Artigas and the choreographies were developed by Miguel Ángel Berna. With all of this Saura shows us the typical dance of his native region, Huesca (Aragón, Spain) fusing tradition and contemporary, adding obviously his touch. The movie was part of the Toronto International Film Festival of 2016, and was produced by Spanish network Movistar+, and Tresmonstruos.
