Plot

The story of Irmã Dulce Pontes, a nun from Salvador, capital of the Brazilian state of Bahia. Her devotion leads this woman to try to assist the needed and poor children of her community. Her wish to help takes her to go through the streets of Bahía to save a boy. She asks for money to politicians during their political campaigns to help others. Her tireless struggle agains inequalities even with a respiratory condition give her the nickname of "Good Angel of Bahia". Those acts of generosity are recognized by the Catholic Church and the World when she is nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize and becomes candidate of Sainthood.

'Irmã Dulce' is a biographical movie based on real events. This film is directed by Vicente Amorim ('Good', 'Yakuza Princess'). Its script is written by L.G. Bayão ('Motorrad', 'O Shaolin do Sertão') y Anna Muylaert ('Don't Call Me Son' y 'The Second Mother').

Its plot covers the life of this Brazilian nun since the decade of 1940s until 1980s with two actresses to play Irmã: Regina Braga ('Paula - A História de uma Subversiva', 'Anything for Love') y Bianca Comparato ('3%', 'The Nightshifter'). The cast is completed with Glória Pires ('Insensato Coração', 'The Other Side of Paradise') and Luiz Carlos Vasconcelos ('Marighella', 'The First Day').
