Introduction

Young-ho (Shin Seok-ho) visits his father (Kim Young-ho) at his doctor?s office. There he is seeing a patient of the most particular: he is a very famous actor in Seoul. Later, he decides to travel to Berlin to meet his girlfriend Ju-won (Park Mi-so), who is in the German capital to continue his studies. Through her mother (Seo Young-hwa), Ju-won moves into an accommodation in the house of an artist who possesses a captivating beauty. Some time later, Young-ho goes to lunch with his mother (Cho Yun-hee), who wants to introduce him to a friend: he is the same man Young-ho met at his father?s clinic. On each stage, Youngho anticipates an important conversation.

'Introduction' is Hong Sangsoo?s 25th feature film as director and his first as director of photography. Shin Seokho, Park Miso, Kim Youngho, Ye Jiwon, Ki Joobong, Seo Younghwa, Kim Minhee, Cho Yunhee, Ha Seongguk are the actors that make up the main cast of this Korean proposal. Jeonwonsa Film Co. is producing the film.

Variety defines 'Introduction' as "A Narrow but Deceptively Deep Cut of Hong Sangsoo Simplicity. The Korean auteur's latest modest miniature makes no demands of the viewer, but beneath its pleasant, placid surface wait rich rewards. (...) It makes 'Introduction' as bracing as a brief dip in a freezing sea after a rather too soju-soaked luncheon".
