Plot

'Inside Out 2' lands 9 years after the first installment. Riley has grown up and is in the midst of adolescence, facing new emotions typical of her age, thus introducing new characters: Shame, Anxiety, Envy, and Boredom. The rest of the emotions, Joy, Fear, Sadness, Anger, and Disgust will have to make room for them in the headquarters, which has crumbled with their arrival. Together, they will have to learn to coexist in order to properly manage Riley's mind, as she goes through a complex stage where she changes schools and makes new friends. Anxiety, one of the new characters, will be among those who most jeopardize keeping everything in order.

This story delves into the challenges of adolescence, showing how the protagonist and her emotions go through key moments of this age, such as social pressure, self-discovery, and the search for identity. It teaches lessons about the importance of managing our emotions, no matter how complex they may be.

The film brings back the same creative team, with director Pete Docter and producer Jonas Rivera to ensure a good continuation of the story. Joining them are the actors who voiced the characters from the first film, such as Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Bill Hader, Lewis Black, and Mindy Kaling. Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger, and Disgust, respectively. Other actors are also added for the new characters, with Maya Hawke voicing Anxiety, Ayo Edebiri as Envy, Paul Walter Hauser as Shame, and Adèle Exarchopoulos as Boredom (Ennui in French).

Another Pixar reference

Pixar's traditional reference to A113 appears as Roman numerals ACXIII over a door in The Vault.

Reference to Pixar movie

Small details that appear in other films of the company, a Pixar classic, can be appreciated. In the case of 'The Upside Down 2' it can be seen in a scene in which a poster of a group of singers from the movie 'Red' appears.
