In the Last Days of the City

Downtown Cairo, 2009. Khalid, a 35 year old filmmaker (played by Khalid Abdalla) is struggling to make a film that captures the soul of his city while facing loss in his own life. With the help of his friends, who send him footage from their lives in Beirut, Baghdad and Berlin, he finds the strength to keep going through the difficulty and beauty of living 'In the Last Days of the City'.

Shot in Cairo, Beirut, Baghdad and Berlin two years prior to the outbreak of the revolution in Egypt, the film?s multi-layered stories are a visually rich exploration of friendship, loneliness, loss and life in cities shaped by the shadows of war and adversity.

It is a co-production between Egypt, Germany, United Kingdom and United Arab Emirates.
