In 1966 Helen Reddy arrives in New York with her three-year-old daughter, $ 230 in her pocket, and a suitcase. Although she had won a contract to record an album, soon the record company begins to frustrate all hopes of her because they already have enough female interpreters and suggest that she give up and return to Australia. Without money Reddy continues her career as a singer to support her daughter until she befriends a legendary rock journalist who, in addition to restoring her lost confidence, inspires her to write what will be her most mythical song, a song that encouraged everyone a generation of women to fight for a real change in society.
It directed by Unjoo Moon in her feature film debut.
