Hounds

Hassan (Abdellatif Masstouri) is a trafficker from Casablanca who moves around the city dealing with drugs. His boss is the leader of a dangerous Moroccan clan where drugs and violence are daily life. When the clan leader's favorite dog is murdered, Hassan receives a mission to kidnap those responsible for the canine's death. The promotion, from small-time trafficker to tracker by express order of the leader, places Hassan in a pressure situation. For this reason, he asks his son Issam (Ayoub Elaid) for help, with whom he will begin an adventure that, in principle, is simple. However, the night is very long, and the labyrinthine corridors of the Moroccan city, where crime hides, will lengthen the day for Hassan and Issam, who will enter a descending and infinite nightmare.

The film, which stars Ayoub Elaid, Abdellatif Masstouri, Mohamed Hmimsa, Abdellah Lebkiri, Lahcen Zaimouzen, Salah Bensalah and Mohamed Kharbouchi, is an original story by its director, Kamal Lazra. Due to the events of the film and its narrative conception, 'Hounds' is reminiscent of great works of nocturnal nightmares such as 'After Hours' by Martin Scorsese, 'Collateral' by Michael Mann or 'Rope' by Alfred Hitchcock.

It is distributed by Zabriske Films, which will release it in theaters on July 25, 2024.
