In 2021, the United States of America withdraws from Afghanistan after years of war with the Talibans, as they considered the battle was already lost. The Talibans, now owners of the territory, would implement their extremist ideology in the place and take advantage of the weapons that their enemy left behind after their withdrawal for increasing their power.

Journalist and director Ibrahim Nash'at joins their side with his camera and microphone to film their siege at the Hollywood Gate complex, a former base of the Central Intelligence Agency in Kabul. This documentary, 'Hollywoodgate', shows everything that Nash'at documented during his stay with the Talibans, who were open-minded and enthusiastic about showing to the world their weapons and vision of the war.

So on, soldiers and director will go into different missions focused on establishing the new order in Afghanistan. Ibrahim will also document operations that will put his life in danger, even being threatened with death for filming in places where he should not be filming. The filmmaker has previously directed 'Navalny', a documentary that explores the poisoning attack that was carried out in 2020 on Alexei Navalny, the main opponent of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
