Heretic

Two young missionaries are found knocking on the doors of houses in the neighborhood. When they arrive at the dark property of Mr. Reed, he greets them with a warm welcome that gives the girls confidence. Once inside, Reed begins to show them how devoted he is to Mormonism, in addition to having a mysterious personality. Suddenly, the man turns off the lights in the living room and invites the girls to find him throughout the house. Once they succeed, Reed starts giving them lessons about beliefs and thoughts. Little by little, that strange personality begins to turn into a very terrifying one that invites them to play a horrifying game to escape his dark plans. Then, the missionaries will have to use all their wits to flee from the house of someone who seemed charming but has turned out to be a psychopath.

Directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods (creators of 'A Quiet Place'), this film features the most terrifying performance by Hugh Grant ('Notting Hill') as Mr. Reed. The two young missionaries are played by actresses Sophie Tatcher ('Yellowjackets') and Chloe East ('The Fabelmans'). The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, where most media outlets praised Hugh Grant's formidable performance.
