Plot
Israeli filmmaker Nir Bergman ('In Therapy') directs 'Here We Are', awarded the best actor award at the 65th of Valladolid International Film Festival, known as la Seminci, where it competed in the Official Selection for the Golden Spike. Winner of four Israeli Film Academy Awards (including best director, best screenplay, best actor and best supporting actor). Oficial Selection in 2020 Cannes International Film Festival.
A co-production between Israel and Italy, Aharon (Shai Avivi) has dedicated his life to raising his son Uri (Noam Imber). Father and son have a fairly quiet routine and they live peacefully, away from the real world. However, Uri has autism spectrum syndrome and he is considered old enough to live in a specialized home for people like him. On the way to the institution, Aharon begins to feel insecure about the state decision and he decides to elope with his offspring and go with him on the road, noting that Uri is not prepared for separation.
However, what if it is the other way around and it is the father who does not want or cannot part with his son? A fable about family dependency and parental care for children that embodies the special bond that is forged due to Uri's unique nature and how his father manages it.
