Hay una puerta ahí

'There's a door there' is a documentary directed by Facundo Ponce de León that portrays the birth of a friendship between two men while one helps the other die. In a conversation through their cell phones we will see how Fernando Sureda and Eric Benito live the acceptance of pain, the sense of humor, family and friends, ideas and beliefs, life and the end . Two people who, because of the thousands of kilometers that an ocean occupies and because of the pandemic, could never meet.

In 80 minutes we will discover what their story was like through testimonies and memories that reach the minds of everyone who has known them. It premiered at the 26th Malaga Festival in the special session for documentaries and was a huge success among attendees.

It was filmed and has its origins in Uruguay. His director, born in Montevideo, wanted to portray the images of these friends in his homeland. In 2011 he founded the production company Mueca Films, in charge of making the film. He has a degree in philosophy and communication sciences from the University of the Republic, he also has a doctorate in philosophy from the Carlos III University of Madrid and is a former student of the German School of Montevideo. He is currently a professor of philosophical anthropology at the Catholic University of Uruguay.

On October 27 it will have its premiere in Spain thanks to Sherlock Films.
