Plot
New film by Liu Jian, director of 'Piercing' (2010), stayed in a official competition of 67th Berlin International Film Festival. In this animated film of gangsters with comedy overtones, his director offers a neo-noir whirl with which he consolidates his precursor style in the Chinese independent animation. The director shows an enthusiastic look to represent the urban landscapes in development through a cast of extravagant and aggressive characters that resemble the cinema of other terrible enfants such as Quentin Tarantino.
The rain is about to fall in a small town in southern China. In a desperate attempt to find money to save his fiancee's plastic surgery, Xiao Zhang, a driver, steals his boss a million yuan. The news of the robbery comes quickly to the city and, in the course of the night, everyone is looking for money and Xiao Zhang.

Prohibited movie
Selected to have its French premiere in competition for the Cristal for a Feature Film at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in 2017. However, the Chinese government requested that the work be withdrawn from the festival. Initially resistant, after a request to withdraw it was also made personally by producer Cheng Yang, the organizers of the festival decided to acquiesce to the request out of concern for the safety of Yang, Jian Liu and their collaborators.
Voice work
The voice cast is made up of nonprofessional friends of Jian Liu from Nanjing, many of them artists or workers in animation, and most dialogue is in the local dialect of the city.
