Plot
Abo Dya (Mohammad Al Qaisl) is a fugitive from Amman who lives in Gneyya, a small town in northern Jordan with his pregnant wife and his son Dya. A spanish archaeological campaign has traveled to the country and is mounting an expedition in the village of Abo Dya, providing work to the locals and becoming one of the main sources of income of Gneyya. Caused by harsh working conditions, the relationship between the people and foreigners is becoming increasingly tense and untenable, and Abo Dya sees the only solution in Amman, where his family refuses to return for fear of his father's arrest. With no choice but to face the Spaniards, Abo Dya with his strong personality and determination will lead a strike to try to improve the working conditions they are having and will focus all his efforts on educating and inculcating his child the values and the goals he should pursue to prevent him from making the same
mistakes.
Directed and signed by Alex Sardà, known for his shorts 'Ciutat de Granada 145-147-149', 'Gang' or 'Fuga' premieres now with the feature films, this documentary drama presents an intimate portrait of a man who lives on the margins of society who tries to get ahead despite his dark past. It stars debutant Mohammad Al Qaisl.
