Plot
Justin Chon introduces in his third film a story about friendship in the middle of Los Angeles riots in 1992. Kamilla is an African-American 11-year-old girl who shares a strange friendship with Eli and Daniel, two Corean-American brothers who own a shoe shop in one of the neighbors of the city. While Kamilla is thinking about quitting school, the verdict of Rodney King's case unleashes the riots. In the middle of this chaos and violence situation, the three of them will be forced to defend the shoe shop from the rioters, proving that family is not just the people who shares our last name. The movie stars also director Justin Chon, Curtiss Cook Jr. and David So, introducing Simone Baker as Kamilla.
