Goebbels and the Führer

'The Minister of Propaganda' takes place between March 1938 and May 1945. It was in 1938 when Joseph Goebbels was at the height of his power up to that point. He was responsible for generating public support for Adolf Hitler's measures. What he sought was to get people in favor of the war that was about to begin and of the Holocaust. He was a master of manipulation with a great power of seduction, which led him to convince the German people that only one person had the power to make Germany great again, and that was Adolf Hitler. His work was met with criticism and skepticism, but he quickly gained the favor of the people and the support of society.

The film manages to show us Nazism from a new and real perspective, recounting what happened from the viewpoint of the person who changed propaganda forever. Goebbels ended up becoming Hitler's right-hand man during his best years and had to face the downfall of what they had built during their time in power.

Directed by the German Joachim A. Lang, 'The Minister of Propaganda' is a film that seeks to delve into the process of creating Goebbels' Nazi propaganda, featuring a brilliant Robert Stadlober ('Das Boot (The Submarine)') as the protagonist.
